On January 29 nearly 100 people joined us in celebrating 25 years in business. The Robertson County Chamber of Commerce arranged a “Pop In” and invited local professionals and business owners to stop by. We look forward to the next 25 years of serving the real estate needs of our community.
Tips to Add Value to You Home
The winter freeze is over and many of you are looking for ways to spruce up for spring. Here are some simple tips that require minimum time and expense.
Remove leaves and sticks. Prune dead or diseased limbs from trees and shrubs.
Wash the driveway. This is also a good time to make repairs to asphalt or concrete damaged by winter freeze.
Clean the house itself, including mildewed brick or siding and areas of the foundation where rain may have splashed up mud. A pressure washer can make quick work of a cleaning job. Make sure you use the proper nozzle to avoid damaging siding. Clean gutters and downspouts, too (inside and out).
Clean up any edging that has started to look ragged from contact with mower blades or weed eaters. A power edger can quickly create clean lines.
Add a new layer of mulch to planting beds and paths. For an even quicker fix, stir up existing mulch to make it look fresh.
Clean and seal your deck. Install low voltage lighting for security and to highlight your home’s best features.
After the danger of frost, add containers with in-season flower or foliage plants. These will help to draw the eye away from spots you’d rather people not see.
Interest Rates Are Near Record Lows
As the Federal Reserve considers increasing rates in the near future, current rates remain at near record lows.
ABC news reports that a 30-year mortgage is averaging 3.78%, while a 15-year loan is a super low 3.06%.
So what does this really mean? If rates increase just 1%,
the same $200,000 loan could cost you around $150 a month more. The message from experts — don’t wait for rates to rise, act now and save big!
